Green Beans with Mushrooms and Onions

mushrooms, such as button, cremini, or portobello (sliced)

thinly sliced onion

Directions

Fill a medium saucepan three-fourths full with water. Bring to a boil, covered, over high heat. Cook the green beans, uncovered, for 5 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Drain well in a colander.

Meanwhile, in a medium nonstick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat, swirling to coat the bottom. Cook the mushrooms, onion, garlic, and salt for 5 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft and lightly browned, stirring frequently. Stir in the lemon juice, pepper, and cooked green beans.

I MADE THIS LAST NIGHT. NO ONE LIKED IT. MUSHROOMS TOO CHEWY AND NOT ENOUGHT FLAVORING.

I used this recipe and replaced the green beans( which I don't care for) with baby limas! Needless to say there weren't any left. Delicious!!!!

I prepared this recipe using the french string beans (no string removal), the regular white mushroom, sweet onions and only 1 table spoon of lemon juice. Everybody liked and fast to prepare too.
